Cessna Skycatcher

Gulf Aviation is the proud owner of a new Cessna SkyCatcher, scheduled for release at the end of 2008 it is the latest addition to our fleet. The new Cessna SkyCatcher is a high-wing, two-seat plane constructed primarily of aluminum with some composites in the airframe. The interior is replete with carbon-fiber seats that are fixed in place, with rudder pedals that adjust fore and aft to accommodate different pilots.

The avionics system in each Cessna SkyCatcher is a new Garmin G300 all-glass panel developed especially for the SkyCatcher. All flight instrumentation, engine instrumentation, and a moving map are presented through a single display panel. A Garmin SL40 com transceiver, GTX327 Mode C transponder, VFR GPS, and a 121.5 MHz ELT round out the standard avionics complement. The cockpit also features dual panel-mounted control sticks. The SkyCatcher will be capable of visual flight rules/day/night operations.

The SkyCatcher cruises at speeds up to 118 knots and will have a maximum range of 470 nautical miles. The aircraft has a maximum gross weight of 1,320 pounds, a service ceiling of 15,500 feet, a useful load of 490 pounds, and a usable fuel load of 24 gallons. The new SkyCatcher is equipped with a Garmin G300 avionics package, sleek carbon-fiber seating and cup holders, vertical-opening doors, and dual control sticks.

Other features incorporated in the Cessna include electric elevator trim and mechanical flaps as well as a fixed-seat/adjustable rudder pedal design. The front seats pivot forward, allowing easy access to rear baggage space through cabin doors on both sides of the fuselage. In addition, the dual control sticks designed by Cessna provide straight stick functionality and feel while allowing easy access to pilot and co-pilot seats.
